Hi! I’m Becky! I’m a character designer, illustrator, painter and comic artist living in Los Angeles.
Currently I am a Character Design Supervisor at Cartoon Network on Adventure Time: Distant Lands including BMO and Obsidian. Previously I was Lead Character Design on the Steven Universe Movie and Steven Universe: Future, as well as Character & Prop Designer on Star vs The Forces of Evil (Disney TVA) and Character Designer on Bee & Puppycat (Frederator).
I was also fortunate to contribute visual development art and character design in LEGO Movie 2.
I started working professionally in art when I was 15 as a caricature artist at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. After graduating from Savannah College of Art & Design I moved to New Zealand with my partner Frank for three years, where we began working on comics, kids books and animation development together.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2011, Frank and I specialize in animation development, having developed original properties for Universal, DreamWorks TV and Cartoon Network. I also have worked on development art for established properties at Disney and Cartoon Network, including DuckTales and Powerpuff Girls, as well as contributing development art to properties at Nickelodeon, Imagine and more.
For my illustration work I work primarily paint in physical media, particularly gouache and ink. If you want to see a little bit of my process, here is a video!
